2018 Scout Popcorn Incentive Program

2018 Scout Popcorn Incentive Program

Returning this year is the Scout Popcorn Adventure Club where all youth who raise $2,500 and over receive a ScoutShop gear box seasonally. 2017 saw 176 youth join the club and we look forward to enrolling even more Scouting youth in 2018.

NEW! The 2018 campaign will provide Groups with the ability to create their own, customizable incentive program. As Scouters, you know how to reward your Group best. So we will be supporting Groups to create their personalize incentive programs by offering a 20% discount to the Scout Shop in-store and online. Build your own Youth Recognition Program in three easy steps.

Ultimately it was feedback from Scouters, Parents and Youth that led to this new program. Thank you to everyone for your input. Creating an incentive program curated to your Group will allow you the flexibility to select prizes based on your Section/Groups upcoming adventures while also enabling you to reward youth best.

Here is 10th Barrie’s Group Commissioner, Greg Peach’s experience with his Groups prize program:

“Our Groups Scout Popcorn experience in 2017 was a complete 180 degree change from the previous year. We set aside 5% of our budget (based on projected sales of $6,000) to fund the Groups incentive program. We had a sampling of prizes at the Groups popcorn kick-off party so they could see some of the things they could earn. We also made sure there were lots of games and popcorn treats to get the youth and parents excited about the whole thing. We exceeded our goal of $6,000 and we raised over $8,500.”

Why Scout Popcorn?

Why Scout Popcorn?

Together with 1,031 Groups, over $6.5 million dollars was raised during the 2017 Scout Popcorn campaign. That amounts to nearly $4 million worth of great Scouting adventures for youth across the country. Scout Popcorn also helped support the No One Left Behind program allowing over 3,000 Canadian youth from low-income families to benefit from Scouting.

But Scout Popcorn is not only about funding great adventures, it helps us achieve our mission of developing well-rounded youth better prepared for success in the world. Through selling Scout Popcorn, Scouts learn many valuable life and business skills such as marketing, strategy development, financial responsibility, and develop positive self-esteem.

We hope that Scout Popcorn will help your Group experience all the incredible adventures you have planned for the 2018–2019 Scouting year!
